New 109 Change Over Version

Dry Form C Reed Relays
Choice of mu-metal package or plastic package with internal mu-metal magnetic screen.

Pickering Electronics are pleased to announce the addition of a dry Form C (changeover) reed relay to their established Series 109.

This increases the scope of the range which already includes 1 Form A, 2 Form A, 1 Form B and coaxial types in either mu-metal packages or plastic packages with internal mu-metal magnetic screens.

3 VOLT RELAYS
Reed Relays with 3 volt operating coils

Pickering Electronics are pleased to announce
the release of 3 Volt relays

3 Volt Reed Relays

• 3 volt operating coils now available in most ranges
• Ideal for equipment using 3 volt logic
• 1 Form A versions now available

Versions with 3 volt operating coils are now available in most ranges .These are ideal for equipment using 3 volt logic.

The Series 100 has a coil resistance of 2000 ohms, the Series 101 is 1600 Ohms and the small Series 118 is 1000 Ohms making them ideal for portable equipment.

In some other ranges, we have been able to retain the same coil resistance figures as the 5 volt types. Initially, 1 Form A versions are available but 2 Form A and Form C versions will soon be added so if you have a requirement for these, please contact us, we may have them available.

SERIES 118
Low power consumption - 5 volt coils with a resistance of 2200 Ohms

Pickering Electronics are pleased to announce
the release of the Series 118.

Series 118 SIL Reed Relays

• Requires a board area of only 0.2 x 0.33 inches
• Plastic package with internal mu-metal magnetic screen
• Dry ruthenium switches

The new Pickering Series 118 is a range of very sensitive reed relays that are ideal for portable electronic instruments or other applications where low power consumption and a very small footprint is important. They include an internal mu-metal magnetic screen to eliminate the risk of problems due to magnetic interaction when mounted side-by-side.

Two switch types are available. Switch type 1 is a very robust, general purpose switch, rated at 15 Watts, 0.75 amps switching. Switch type 2 is better suited to low level or 'cold' switching with a rating of 10 watts, 0.5 Amps switching.

They feature high quality, sputtered ruthenium switch contacts and require a board area of only 0.2 x 0.33 inches (5.1 x 8.4 mm). The 5 volt version with the low level, switch type 2, has a coil resistance of 2.2kOhms. Initially, single pole versions only are available in this range but double pole versions will follow in the future.

SERIES 115
Smallest board area for 15 Watts Reed Relay

Following the success of the Series 117 and 116, Pickering Electronics are pleased to announce the release of the Series 115.

Series 115 SIL Reed Relays

• 10 or 15 watts switching - Very high packing density
• Internal mu-metal magnetic screen
• Stacks on 0.15 X 0.27 pitch

The Series 115 uses the same Form A switch and coil assemblies as the established Series 106, 107, 108, 109, 109P and 110.

Two types of sputtered ruthenium switches are available:
Switch type 1 is a very robust general purpose switch, now rated to 15 Watts, 0.75 Amps switching. Switch type 2 is better suited to low level or 'cold' switching.

Both types will carry 1.2 Amps. Initially single pole versions only are available in this range. 1 and 2 pole versions are available in both the Series 116 and 117.

These relays include an internal mu-metal magnetic screen which permits side-by-side packing with no risk of problems due to magnetic interaction.

SIL Series 117
SIL Series 116
SIL Series 113

Pickering Electronics began producing high-quality relays in 1968 and has continued with this ethos, producing the very best relays for instrumentation, without straying into the manufacture of lower quality commodity devices. This is reflected in the latest two-switch version of the Series 117.

This superb DOUBLE POLE Single-in-Line (SIL) relay requires a minimum of board area - just 0.15 inches x 0.4 inches. The SINGLE POLE version requires only 0.15 x 0.27 inches. These are impressive package sizes when compared to the board area of an industry standard 0.2 x 0.8 inches SINGLE POLE SIL package.

The very small size of these relays often makes it possible to increase the functionality of existing designs without increasing the size of printed circuit boards.

Following the success of the Series 117 Introduced in 2002, Pickering Electronics have now released the SERIES 116 This new range is pin compatible with the Series 117 but features a switching power rating of 10 Watts rather than 3 Watts.

The single pole version requires a board area of only 0.15 x 0.27 inches. The very small size of these relays often makes it possible to increase the functionality of existing designs without increasing the size of printed circuit boards.

The Series 116 or 117 are the ideal choice for very high-density applications such as ATE switching matrices or where board area is very restricted. They are housed in a plastic package with an internal mu-metal magnetic screen. This has the advantage of a high permeability and low magnetic remanence and eliminates problems that would otherwise occur due to magnetic interaction.

Range includes the smallest changeover reed relays available

Pickering Electronics are pleased to announce a new range of Single-in-Line (SIL) reed relays. The Series 113 requires a board area of only 0.15 inches (3.8mm.) by 0.5 inches (12.7mm.).

As well as the more usual Single pole energize to make type (1 Form A), the range also includes two pole energize to make (2 Form A) and single pole changeover (1 Form C) versions, the smallest currently available.

These relays require less than one half the board area of the more usual 0.2 x 0.8 inch devices, making them the ideal choice for ATE or other high density applications.
