High Density and ATE Instrumentation

An internal mu-metal magnetic screen permits side-by-side packing without the risk of problems due to magnetic interaction between relays. All dry Form A types feature the very highest grade, sputtered ruthenium contacts making them ideal for low level or 'cold' switching.

General Instrumentation
For applications where board area is not so critical. Relays feature the highest grade switches and have mu-metal magnetic screens.

Single-in-Line relays in plated mu-metal package. Industry standard package dimension (0.2 inch wide). One or two pole Form A or one pole Form B with 10 Watts contact rating. One or two pole Form C with 3 Watts rating, the only two pole changeover SIL relay available. Mercury wetted switches also available.
SERIES 106 Board area = 0.2 x 0.8 inches
 Single-in-Line relays in plastic package. Industry standard package dimension (0.2 inch wide). One pole Form A with 10 Watts contact rating or one pole Form C with 3 Watts rating.
SERIES 105 Board area = 0.27 x 0.8 inches
 The original Pickering Single-in-Line relay. Plastic package with a wide range of configurations. One or two pole Form A or one pole. Form B with 10 Watts contact rating. One pole Form C with 3 Watts rating. Mercury wetted switches also available.
High Power Switching
SERIES 114 Board area = 0.25 x 1.0 inches (1 Form A)
 Single-in-Line relays in a plastic package. 40 watts switch rating. One or two Form A switches or one Form B switch. May be used to replace mercury relays in some applications. Unusually for high power relays, this range features sputtered ruthenium switches which makes them usable at low levels also. Most high power reed relays have electroplated tungsten or rhodium switches which have a poorer low level performance.
High Voltage
SERIES 104 Board area = 0.25 x 1.0 inches (1 Form A)
Up to 3 Kilovolts. Rhodium plated, vacuum switches in a Single-in-Line plastic package. Three voltage ratings are available.
1kV stand-off, 500 volts switching at 10 Watts (One or two Form A or one Form B).
1.5kV stand-off, 1kV switching at 10 Watts (One or two Form A or one Form B).
3kV stand-off, 1kV switching at up to 20 Watts (One Form A only).

Up to 15 Kilovolts. Tungsten plated, vacuum switches in a chassis mounting package with solder tag connections . Three voltage ratings are available.
5kV stand-off, 3.5kV switching at 50 Watts (One Form A or one Form B).
10kV stand-off, 7.5kV switching at 50 Watts (One Form A or one Form B). 15kV stand-off, 12.5kV switching at up to 50 Watts (One Form A only).

SERIES 63 Board area = 0.8 x 2.55 inches
Up to 15 Kilovolts. Tungsten plated, vacuum switches. Coil connections are by PCB pins and the high voltage connections are by push-on terminals on the top face. Three voltage ratings are available.
5kV stand-off, 3.5kV switching at 50 Watts (One Form A or one Form B).
10kV stand-off, 7.5kV switching at 50 Watts (One Form A or one Form B). 15kV stand-off, 12.5kV switching at up to 50 Watts (One Form A only).
Data Acquisition - Low Thermal EMF - Thermocouple Switching - Direct Drive From CMOS
SERIES 100 Board area = 0.4 x 1.0 inches
Thermal EMF of 1 microvolt or less. 3300 ohm, 5 volt coil may be driven directly from 4000B CMOS. Wide range including some mercury wetted types.
SERIES 101 Board area = 0.3 x 0.8 inches
Direct drive from 74HC or HCT CMOS. Standard 5 volt coil is 1600 ohms, special single pole type with 3000 ohms coil also available. Good compromise between size, sensitivity and thermal EMF.
Low Capacitance Switching
SERIES 103 Board area = 0.2 x 0.8 inches
Inherently low levels of capacitance between the switch and coil of around 1pF.
SERIES 103G Board area = 0.2 x 0.8 inches
Effectively low levels of coupling capacitance between the switch and coil by virtue of the coaxial guard screen.
A mu-metal magnetic screen is optional on these relays, which then become 103M and 103GM.
RF And High Speed Digital Switching
SERIES 102M Board area = 0.2 x 0.8 inches
Single-in-Line coaxial relay with 50 ohms impedance. Useful to about 1.5GHz RF
SERIES 102F Board area = 0.35 x 0.55 inches
Axial construction connects directly onto microstrip. Useful to around 3GHz RF.
SERIES 103G Board area = 0.2 x 0.8 inches
Same internal construction as 102M but in plastic package - similar performance.
SERIES 109RF Board area = 0.15 x 0.6 inches
Single-in-Line coaxial relay with 50 ohms impedance. Useful to about 1.5GHz RF. 75 ohms version also available.
SERIES 111RF Board area = 0.15 x 0.4 inches
Very small Single-in-Line coaxial relay. Useful to about 1.5GHz RF.
